Did you know that there are over 4000 religions in the world ?
Nearly 75 percent of the world population practices one of the five most
influential religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism
(the order of these religions is alphabetical in English, the order is not
related to significance).
Religion is an important part in many peoples lives, but at the same time it
is often the cause of tension between communities.
In the last few years, we have seen a large increase in religious violence
or tension.
These range from Islamic extremists waging global jihad and power struggles
between Sunni and Shia Muslims in the Middle East to the persecution of
Rohingya in Myanmar, outbreaks of violence between Christians and Muslims
across Africa as well as persecution of Christians in as many as 50
countries.

In analysis done just 3 years ago, more than 25 percent of the world
countries experienced some form of harassment, violence or terrorism related
to religion.
This is by no means as article that praises or criticizes any religion.
There is a place for every religion in the world, and we should all try to
respect everyones right to believe in the religion of choice.
As cliché as this sounds, religious leaders should try to make peace (by
sending the right messages to the followers) now that the world has its own
problems like economic struggle after the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic.
Now is not the time to ponder about which religion is better, or do they
maybe worship the same God, or maybe does religion make sense.
Now is the time to let everyone believe in what they feel the most
comfortable with, and now is the time to work together to make our countries
and economies work properly.
