Electric cars are here to stay, no matter how you look at it.
There have been studies that the production of batteries is more harmful for
the environment than the CO2 emitted by a car in 10 years, but that doesn't
matter.
Read about this study in Germany:

icles-in-germany-emit-more-carbon-dioxide-than-diesel-vehicles/
Also, if electric cars are charged by electricity coming from coal plants,
then this is also not very eco friendly, read this:

What matters is that the move to electric cars is already happening and no
one can break out of it.
Besides, these cars are comfortable because they are not noisy, they are
fast maybe in the next few years battery production technology will change
to produce batteries in a more ecological manner.
As caranddriver.com reports, there are some exciting new vehicles coming up.
The Aspark Own, Audi Etron GT, BMW i4 and Cadillac Lyriq are just a few.
